Position: Children & Young People Wellbeing Advisor (Part‑time) — 14 hr/week, evenings included.

Location: Peterchurch, Herefordshire.

Contract: Permanent.

Job Summary

Join ONSIDE as a Children & Young People Wellbeing Advisor in the Strong Young Minds Reaching Out programme, providing flexible and creative support across Peterchurch & Ross on Wye communities. You will work one‑to‑one, deliver group work and workshops, and use brief intervention approaches to enhance mental health and well‑being for 11‑18‑year‑olds.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide support to 11‑18‑year‑olds, helping them build resilience, confidence and practical coping strategies.
  • Deliver one‑to‑one support, brief interventions, group work and workshops tailored to individual needs.
  • Address a range of young people’s challenges, including low‑level mental ill‑health, self‑harm, family conflict, school transitions, confidence, employment, education and housing concerns.
  • Ensure timely access to appropriate wellbeing support for children and young people.
  • Collaborate with the community, services and families to coordinate care and referrals.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Applicants should be passionate about child and adolescent mental health and possess experience working with 11‑18‑year‑olds in a wellbeing, youth work or mental‑health setting.
  • A strong understanding of mental health, emotional well‑being and early intervention challenges.
  • Capability to engage, motivate and inspire young people.
  • Creativity in developing personalised plans and delivering effective support.

Additional Information

Selected candidates will be required to work evening hours during the working week.
