Onshore Technical is currently recruiting for an experienced SHEQ Advisor to support a full-time, site-based contract role at Avonbridge Compressor. This is a 12-month Outside IR35 opportunity supporting works on high-pressure gas infrastructure. The successful candidate will lead on-site SHEQ compliance, support safe delivery across the project, and work closely with the project team, workforce, subcontractors and senior SHEQ management. A local candidate would be preferred due to the full-time site-based nature of the role.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead on-site SHEQ compliance across the project
  • Ensure adherence to HSE legislation, internal company standards and project requirements
  • Conduct audits, inspections and daily site checks
  • Drive a proactive safety culture across the workforce and subcontractors
  • Support the development and review of RAMS, permits to work and site documentation
  • Deliver site inductions, toolbox talks and safety briefings
  • Investigate incidents and provide accurate reporting and closeout
  • Liaise closely with the project team, workforce and subcontractors
  • Report directly into senior SHEQ management
  • Support environmental compliance and quality standards across the project
  • Help maintain strong standards of health, safety, environment and quality throughout the contract

Essential Requirements

  • NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent
  • SHEA Gas certification
  • 3 Day First Aid
  • Demonstrable experience working on gas infrastructure projects
  • Experience with AGIs, compressor stations, pipelines or similar gas assets
  • Good understanding of CDM Regulations
  • Understanding of environmental compliance and ISO standards
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Full UK driving licence
  • Ability to work full-time on site

Desirable Requirements

  • SMSTS preferred
  • Temporary Works Coordinator preferred
  • Experience with Gas Networks or similar gas operators
  • Internal or external auditing experience across ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001
  • Local to Avonbridge or the surrounding area preferred
