The Challenge Cardiometabolic conditions will impact 80-90% of people throughout their lifetimes, representing the leading cause of death globally and an important risk factor for a variety of neurodegenerative diseases and cancer. Sustainably addressing these diseases requires breakthrough therapeutics, AI/ML innovation, and transformative business models that translate clinical outcomes into economic value.

The Opportunity Own the cloud platform that powers Onsera Health's breakthrough healthcare AI. We are backed by Population Health Partners (PHP), the proven venture platform behind Metsera and Corsera Health, and, together, we're building the future of population health management. As our Platform Engineer, you will build and operate production-grade GCP infrastructure that enables fast and secure product delivery across all our global engineering and AI teams. You will be in the central seat across all our deliveries including data, ML, LLM, agentic AI, and applications.

Responsibilities:

  • Own GCP infrastructure – Operate and evolve production and non-production environments; manage cost visibility, quotas, and alerts; maintain clean environment separation with appropriate access controls.
  • Implement Infrastructure as Code – Build and maintain Terraform across projects, networks, IAM, and services.
  • Enforce security and compliance – Implement controls aligned with healthcare requirements (HIPAA, SOC 2, ISO 27001); configure IAM, service accounts, workload identity, network security, and audit logging; support audits and remediation activities.
  • Manage internet-facing architecture – Provision and secure HTTPS load balancers, Cloud Run, GKE, DNS, certificates, and domain routing; own ingress, WAF, rate-limiting, and auth integration.
  • Enable product, data, and ML teams – Translate product and data requirements into secure, scalable platform designs; provision tooling and environments for ML experimentation, data pipelines, and workflow orchestration.
  • Provision and secure LLM and agentic AI infrastructure – Deploy and manage generative AI toolkits, model serving endpoints and data governance for AI workloads.
  • Drive reliability and operations – Support incident response and root-cause analysis; improve observability through logging, metrics, and tracing; contribute to on-call processes proportionate to company stage.
  • Continuously improve contributor experience – Enhance platform reliability, security posture, and team productivity.

What We Offer:

  • Mission-driven work addressing critical public health and healthcare economics challenges.
  • Ground-floor opportunity to build and scale cloud infrastructure—including cutting-edge LLM and agentic AI systems—for a breakthrough healthcare platform.
  • Partnership with a world-class team of industry leaders, innovators, technologists, bioscientists, and clinicians from PHP and beyond.
  • A fast-paced, dynamic, and highly collaborative work environment.
  • Competitive salary and benefits package, including participation in our equity program.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 3+ years of experience in cloud infrastructure roles, with a preference for experience in platform and devops teams.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform in production environments.
  • Proven use of Terraform (or equivalent IaC) for managing cloud resources at scale.
  • Solid understanding of cloud networking (VPCs, subnets, routing, load balancers) and IAM / identity-based access models.
  • Experience with containerised and serverless workloads (Cloud Run, GKE, Docker).
  • Practical experience implementing security controls in cloud environments (SOC 2, ISO 27001, HIPAA, or similar).
  • Experience operating web-facing, security-sensitive systems.
  • Comfortable working closely with ML, data, and product teams to translate ambiguous requirements into concrete infrastructure solutions.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in healthcare, fintech, or other regulated environments.
  • Exposure to LLM infrastructure, model serving, or agentic AI frameworks in production.
  • Familiarity with data platforms (BigQuery, Airflow, data pipelines).
  • Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Cloud Build) and policy-as-code tools.
  • Exposure to observability stacks (OpenTelemetry, Prometheus, Cloud Monitoring).
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for explaining platform trade-offs to non-platform engineers.
  • Prior experience in a scale-up or startup environment.
