Role Description

The Site Technician role is a full-time hybrid position based in Romford, with some work from home flexibility.

Day-to-day responsibilities include preparing, installing, and maintaining survey equipment such as digital cameras and ATC units at various roadside and on-site locations.

The Site Technician will conduct site assessments, ensure safe and compliant setups, monitor data collection, and perform basic fault finding and equipment checks.

The role also involves accurately recording survey information, reporting issues, and collaborating with the wider team to meet project timelines.

Occasional travel and work during varied hours may be required to support survey operations.

Qualifications

  • Candidates should possess strong Communication and Customer Service skills for interacting with colleagues, clients, and the public in a professional manner.
  • Candidates should possess Troubleshooting and Technical Support skills to identify, diagnose, and resolve basic equipment or data collection issues on site.
  • Candidates should possess solid Analytical Skills to review survey data for accuracy, follow procedures, and document findings clearly.
  • Basic technical aptitude with cameras or monitoring equipment and a willingness to learn traffic survey methodologies.
  • Ability to work safely outdoors in varied weather conditions and to follow health and safety guidelines.
  • Good organizational skills, reliability, and attention to detail when setting up and recording survey activities.
  • Valid UK driving licence and ability to travel to survey locations as needed.
  • Prior fieldwork, engineering, surveying, or transport-related experience is beneficial but not essential.
