Due to continued demand for our temporary staffing services across Hastings, Bexhill, Eastbourne and the surrounding areas, we are recruiting experienced, enthusiastic and reliable Teaching Assistants to join our flexible agency team.
As an Agency Teaching Assistant, you will have the opportunity to work across a variety of education settings, including mainstream/state schools, independent/private schools and Special Educational Needs (SEN) settings. This is an ideal opportunity for experienced Teaching Assistants looking for flexible temporary work and the opportunity to broaden their experience across different educational environments.
About the Role
As an Agency Teaching Assistant, you will work alongside teachers and other education professionals to provide practical, educational and pastoral support to children and young people. Your responsibilities may include supporting classroom learning, working with individual pupils or small groups, helping pupils engage with their education and assisting with the day-to-day classroom environment. Depending on the placement, you may support pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND), autism, learning disabilities, communication needs, physical disabilities or other additional support needs. You will be expected to follow the safeguarding procedures, behaviour policies, professional expectations and established routines of each school or education setting. As an agency worker, you will need to be adaptable, professional and confident working with different pupils, teaching teams and school environments while maintaining appropriate professional boundaries.
What We're Looking For
We are looking for Teaching Assistants who are patient, reliable, adaptable and committed to supporting children and young people with their education, development and wellbeing. Applicants must:
- Have recent UK experience working with children or young people within a school, education or relevant support setting
- Have a good understanding of safeguarding, professional boundaries and the responsibilities involved in supporting children and young people
- Be willing to complete Onpoint Care's induction and all required training
- Have or be willing to obtain the appropriate Enhanced DBS, along with satisfactory employment references and the Right to Work in the UK
Previous experience within mainstream education, independent schools or SEN/SEND settings is welcomed. Experience supporting pupils with additional needs is particularly desirable for SEN placements. Please note: Onpoint Care is unable to offer sponsorship for this position.
