Onpoint Care Recruitment is seeking enthusiastic, reliable, and adaptable Teaching Assistants to support a range of schools across East Sussex, including mainstream, SEN, and SEND settings.
If you’re passionate about helping children and young people succeed, this role offers flexibility, variety, and the chance to make a genuine impact. You’ll have opportunities to support pupils across EYFS, KS1, KS2, KS3, and KS4, gaining valuable experience in different learning environments.
Key Responsibilities- Providing in‑class support across different year groups and subjects
- Offering focused 1:1 support when required
- Assisting with small‑group activities, interventions, and catch‑up sessions
- Supporting pupils with SEN/SEND, including autism, ADHD, SEMH, and learning difficulties
- Encouraging positive behaviour and helping maintain calm, structured classroom routines
- Assisting teachers with classroom setup, preparation, and learning resources
- Helping create an inclusive, supportive, and nurturing learning environment
- Adapting confidently to new school settings, teams, and approaches
We’re looking for someone who is committed, supportive, and enjoys working with young people. You should have:
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude
- A good understanding of safeguarding and pupil wellbeing
- Confidence working in a busy classroom environment
- Experience in a school or educational setting
- Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
- Experience supporting SEN/SEND pupils
- Understanding of behaviour plans, EHCPs, or structured support strategies
- DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)
- Right to work in the UK
