About the Role
We are recruiting experienced and confident Senior Care & Support Workers to work across East Sussex. Applicants can apply for either of the following paths depending on their experience and preference:
- Senior Healthcare Assistant – adult nursing & residential homes
- Senior Residential Support Worker – children’s residential homes
Both roles involve leading shifts, supporting teams, and delivering high‑quality, person‑centred care to individuals with a variety of needs. You’ll work flexibly across services, providing stability, compassion, and professional support in every setting.
Key Responsibilities (Adults & Children’s Services)
- Lead and support staff teams during shifts
- Deliver person-centred or trauma‑informed care tailored to individual needs
- Support individuals with complex needs, dementia, emotional/behavioural needs, or challenging situations
- Provide daily living support (adults) or therapeutic, nurturing care (children)
- Build positive, trusting relationships with residents or young people
- Use de‑escalation or behaviour support strategies when required
- Complete accurate care notes, observations, incident reports, and handovers
- Support care plans, risk assessments, and behaviour management plans
- Ensure safeguarding and safety procedures are always followed
- Promote dignity, independence, and positive outcomes
Requirements
Applicants must meet the criteria for at least one of the following paths:
- Senior Healthcare Assistant (Adults)
- Minimum 6 months UK experience as a Senior HCA
- Experience with personal care, mobility support, and daily living tasks
- Senior Residential Support Worker (Children)
- Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare (or willingness to work towards it)
- Minimum 6 months experience in a children’s residential setting
- Strong understanding of safeguarding and trauma‑informed practice
Desirable
- NVQ Level 3 Health & Social Care
- Medication training
- Behaviour management or de‑escalation training
- Experience with complex needs, dementia, EBD, or trauma
