Over the last two decades our team has built up an onshore renewables portfolio that has 4 GW of renewable capacity in its pipeline, with 12 operational onshore wind farms across Scotland and northern England which we own and run.
The role
We are seeking a highly motivated analyst to join our dynamic team. You will ideally be based in Houghton-le-Spring, Sunderland, however, applicants to be based in our Scottish office will also be considered. The analyst will support both organic renewable energy project developments and M&A opportunities. This is an excellent opportunity for an analyst with a passion for renewable energy to develop their career in a fast-paced and rewarding environment.
Key responsibilities
Financial modelling:Assist in building and maintaining financial models for wind, solar, and storage projects, analysing project costs, returns, and financial risks.
Stakeholder engagement:Liaise with internal and external stakeholders to ensure smooth project progression and alignment with commercial goals.
Market analysis: Conduct research on renewable energy trends, policies, and market conditions, providing insights that support project and investment decisions.
Investment analysis: Evaluate the financial feasibility of new business opportunities, assessing profitability, risk factors, and return on investment to support our growth strategy.
Data analysis & reporting:Support the team by collecting and analysing data, creating reports, and preparing presentations for senior management and stakeholders.
Bid preparation:Assist in preparing bids and proposals for new projects, working closely with the commercial team to develop compelling offers and financial proposals.
PPA support:Assist in reviewing potential power purchase agreements to maximise project returns and minimise risk.
What we’re looking for:
- A recent graduate (or soon-to-be graduate) with a degree infinance, engineering, economics, business, mathematics, or a related field.
- Confident in analytical and numerical skills, with a keen interest infinancial analysis, and renewable energy.
- Proficiency inExceland an understanding of financial modelling and data analysis.
- Understanding of fundamentalenergyconcepts and production techniques.
- Excellentcommunication skillswith the ability to interpret data and present findings clearly.
- Strong attention to detail and a proactive, problem-solving approach.
