Job Overview

The Sales Support Manager plays a crucial role in the Sales & Business Development function, ensuring efficient sales operations by overseeing the Sales CRM system, maintaining accurate forecasting and reporting, and providing ongoing support and guidance to the sales team throughout the complete sales process. This role is key to optimising both pre- and post-sales activities, supporting sales order procedures, and ensuring smooth coordination across multiple teams to maximise sales results.

You will be responsible for reviewing and compiling bid documents to ensure alignment with customer specifications, collaborating with subject matter experts, managing bid timelines, and facilitating clear communication between the bid team and stakeholders. Working closely with the sales lead, ensuring compliance with the end-to-end sales process, you will also oversee administrative functions, sales performance reports, and ensure the CRM pipeline is up to date for accurate reporting and forecasting.

As Sales Support Manager, you will lead and motivate the Sales Support team, offering administrative assistance to the Sales Team(s) for current, potential, and future sales opportunities. You will act as the main liaison between the Sales Directors, Sales Team(s), Design & Estimation Teams, Marketing, Finance, and other departments, establishing regular sales governance across all key stakeholders.

What you will be doing as our Sales Support Manager:

  1. CRM Management:
    • Oversee the Sales CRM system, ensuring data accuracy and completeness (currency, entity, dates).
    • Develop and maintain CRM guidelines and processes – hosting regular “CRM clinics” across the team.
    • Provide ongoing CRM training and support to the sales team and sales support team.
    • Monitor and report on sales forecasts, pipeline health, and key metrics – identifying actions required.
    • Lead the creation and management of the sales forecasting pipeline, aligning it with business goals.
    • Provide regular updates to leadership on sales performance, trends, and forecasts.
    • Identify opportunities for improvement based on data analysis and pipeline reviews.
    • Lead a weekly pipeline review, issuing accurate sales performance data / management information.
  2. Sales Order Process Management:
    • Oversee the processing and tracking of sales orders from inquiry to fulfilment.
    • Ensure accurate and timely processing, collaborating with other departments as necessary.
    • Resolve order-related issues to ensure customer satisfaction.
    • Activate budgets following PO approval.
  3. Bid Management:
    • Act as PMO for specific projects, assigning team members based on project size, complexity, and tender requirements.
    • Handle prequalification documents, customer onboarding, follow-up, and satisfaction. Manage and update the Bid Library on SharePoint, working closely with Marketing.
    • Identify and prioritize Must Win/Retain deals in the CRM.
    • Serve as liaison between the sales team, clients, and other departments to ensure smooth transitions and customer relationships.
  4. Process Improvement:
    • Continuously assess and enhance sales processes for greater efficiency and effectiveness.
    • Collaborate with the sales leadership team to implement operational improvements.

What we are looking for in our Sales Support Manager:

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • At least two years of experience in sales support or a similar role, preferably in (industry).
  • Strong proficiency in CRM systems (e.g., Dynamics, Salesforce, HubSpot) and sales forecasting tools.
  • Experience managing sales order processes and cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively to meet deadlines.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with data analysis and reporting tools (e.g., Excel, Tableau).
  • Familiarity with pre-sales and post-sales processes.
  • Experience in process optimization.
