What you’ll be doing as our Projects Director
Set the strategic direction for the UK pre‑sales, network solutions, and project delivery function, ensuring alignment with UK business objectives and growth plans.
Lead senior‑level collaboration between Sales, Design, Commercial, Operations, and Delivery to improve bid quality, conversion, mobilisation, and project performance.
Ensure peer review and strong bid management are applied to deliver high‑quality business outcomes.
Own the strategic oversight of complex, high‑value, and business‑critical projects, ensuring risks, dependencies, commercial exposure, and client expectations are actively managed.
Review high‑level deliverables across the business unit.
Ensure engagement reviews and quality assurance procedures are in place and consistently followed.
Develop, implement, and maintain sound business operations.
Develop and implement strategic objectives for the function that are aligned to UK leadership priorities, financial targets, client commitments, and long‑term capability requirements.
Take senior accountability for profit and loss performance, revenue forecasting, margin protection, commercial governance, and financial reporting across the business area.
Ensure the business unit meets or exceeds budgeted financial objectives.
Develop and deliver revenue growth and other financial targets for the business unit.
Manage the negotiation of contract pricing and maintenance contract renewals where necessary.
Grow and maintain long‑term client relationships.
Provide clear, timely, and commercially robust reporting, recommendations, and escalation to the Head of UK / Managing Director – UK and the wider senior leadership team.
Handle complex personnel situations directly, using appropriate discretion, HR guidance, and respect for the individual.
Understand the implications of different technical choices and guide clients toward the most appropriate solutions for their needs.
Represent the business at a senior client, supplier, and stakeholder level, acting as a credible escalation point and trusted advisor on network solutions, project delivery, and commercial matters.
Build succession strength and leadership capability across the function, ensuring the organisation has the structure, skills, and resilience required to support future growth.
What we’re looking for in our Projects Director
Extensive experience in a senior project delivery, pre‑sales, network solutions, or operational leadership environment, including demonstrable experience at Director or senior leadership level.
Proven experience leading multi‑disciplinary teams and complex project portfolios, with accountability for commercial performance, delivery quality, client satisfaction, and risk management.
Strong commercial acumen, with experience of P&L ownership, revenue forecasting, margin management, contract governance, and senior‑level client negotiation.
PRINCE2 qualification.
Experience influencing at executive level and operating as part of a senior leadership team, with the ability to translate business strategy into operational delivery plans.
Ability to organise multi‑skilled teams delivering projects involving multiple companies and/or organisational units, and multiple disciplines, including technical, business, and financial.
