ONNEC are seeking a Design Support Administrator, a key enabling position within ONNEC’s Connectivity Design function. The role provides comprehensive administrative, systems and reporting support across the Design and Estimation team, ensuring the efficient operation of activities across both pre-sales and post-sales phases. The post holder will be responsible for maintaining accuracy and integrity across systems and databases, supporting departmental reporting and analytics, and ensuring design information, documentation and data are controlled in line with ONNEC processes and standards. This role does not carry technical design authority but is critical in supporting the effective delivery, governance and visibility of the Design team’s workload and performance.

Hybrid Work arrangement: 3 days from the London Office, 2 days remote from home.

What you’ll be doing as our Design Support Administrator:

  • Design Team Support
    • Provide day‑to‑day administrative support within the ‘Design and Estimation’ team.
    • Assist with the coordination, tracking and administration of workload, submissions and deliverables.
    • Preparation of small work and variation quotations within Intact to facilitate livening.
    • Support the maintenance and organisation of design documentation, cost information and related records.
    • Act as a central administrative point of contact for the Design and Estimation team.
  • Systems & Database Administration
    • Maintain and update systems, databases and trackers used by the Design and Estimation team.
    • Ensure data accuracy, consistency and version control across all design‑related platforms.
    • Support Design Consultants and Managers with system administration, updates and data entry.
    • Assist with continuous improvement of design systems, data quality and administrative processes.
  • Reporting & Analytics
    • Support the preparation and administration of regular department reports.
    • Extract, collate and validate data for management reporting and operational analytics.
    • Assist with the upkeep of reporting templates, dashboards and performance trackers.
    • Provide ad‑hoc reporting and analysis to support Design Managers and the Director of Pre‑Sales.
  • Process, Coordination & Compliance
    • Support the administration of pre‑contract and post‑contract design activities in line with ONNEC procedures.
    • Coordinate information flow between Design, Sales, Commercial and Project Delivery teams.
    • Maintain accurate records to support precontract reviews, handovers and internal governance processes.

What we’re looking for in our Design Support Administrator:

  • Strong administrative and organisational skills with high attention to detail.
  • Experience in an administrative or support role within a technical, engineering or professional services environment.
  • Confidence working with databases, spreadsheets and structured data.
  • Strong IT skills, particularly Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and work to deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proactive, methodical and reliable approach to work.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative team.
  • Experience supporting a design, engineering or construction‑related function.
  • Experience producing or supporting management information, reporting or analytics.
  • Exposure to structured cabling, ICT or construction project environments.
  • Experience with document control or quality management systems.
