The Global Procurement Vendor Manager is a key role within Procurement responsible for managing Global supplier relationships, contracts, and performance.
Reporting to the Global Procurement Director, it acts as the central point of contact for all supplier-related activities and ensures that all suppliers are managed effectively and efficiently.
What you’ll be doing as our Global Procurement Vendor Manager:
- Supplier selection and onboarding : Identifying and selecting the best Suppliers to meet the organization’s needs and ensuring that they are properly onboarded.
- Assessment of Supply Chain : Assessment and rationalisation of suppliers across all regions. Identification of top tier suppliers and those critical to the business regardless of the spend.
- Contract and Rebates management : Drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and managing contracts with multiple suppliers to ensure that they meet the organization’s requirements and are legally binding.
- Supplier performance management : Monitoring supplier performance against and ensuring that suppliers are meeting their contractual obligations.
- Risk management : Identifying, assessing, and mitigating supplier-related risks to protect the organization’s reputation and assets.
- Supplier lifecycle management : Managing the entire supplier lifecycle, from selection to offboarding, to ensure that suppliers are managed effectively throughout their engagement with the organization.
- Spend management and reporting : Collecting and analysing supplier data to identify trends, opportunities for improvement, and cost savings. Management of tail spend.
- Cost information exchange : Buyer and supplier discussions around the total cost to deliver the goods or service. This could be consideration for alternative components/specification variance, inventory reduction and other areas of cost-saving, whilst still achieving performance objectives.
- Relationship management : Developing and maintaining positive and mutually beneficial relationships with suppliers to enhance the customer experience. Work with them to identify challenges, whilst looking to improve the working relationship. Ensure you have the right levels of contact to ensure that the relationship remains on track for both parties.
- Technology or innovation exchanges : The supplier may share innovative developments or new market offerings.
- Improved or priority service levels : Highly regarded customers are often offered priority production availability. Based on the scope of work and security of the relationship, suppliers may even consider investment in.
- Corporate social responsibility : Supply networks have become more complex so ensuring that suppliers meet ethical, social and environmental standards, is the responsibility of the supplier relationship management team.
- Compliance : Ensuring that your suppliers meet regulatory requirements, environmental and manufacturing standards can be difficult if you’re working with multiple suppliers across the globe. There are increasing expectations from clients for Onnec to have a Sustainability Procurement Policy in place. This exercise encompasses monitoring and reporting regularly on our supply chain compliance on topics like: labour conditions, carbon footprint, health and safety, diversity and sustainable initiatives.
What we’re looking for in our Global Procurement Vendor Manager:
- Strong knowledge of procurement principles and practices, particularly in the IT Procurement space.
- Knowledge of cabling and infrastructure services.
- Extensive experience of managing suppliers and the onboarding process of suppliers at a Global level.
- Thorough experience with compliance requirements from suppliers including corporate responsibilities.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with suppliers, internal stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.
- Ability to build and maintain strong professional relationships.
- High degree of energy, enthusiasm and professionalism with a can-do attitude.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- A good level of Microsoft Knowledge including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.
- Excellent relationship management skills.
- Relevant systems experience – ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems and familiarity with the full P2P cycle.
- Professional certification in procurement or working towards it (CIPS) is a plus.
