The scope of this role is to assist the Compliance department in ensuring the business complies with legislation, industry standards, and approved codes of practice across all areas. The role also involves supporting ongoing certification processes such as ISO, NACOSS Gold, and other safety certifications. Please note that travel abroad and within the UK will be required occasionally if necessary. What you\’ll be doing as our Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Compliance Officer: Conduct and manage audits, ensuring timely close-outs. Collaborate with the team to achieve compliance with CHAS, Safe Contractor, CCS, and other safety-related construction accreditations. Maintain up-to-date accreditation records, organize audits, follow up on closures, and gather necessary information. Assist in organizing ISO audits and ensuring the company is prepared, preferably with experience in ISO9001/14001/27001. Use construction industry experience to maintain site presence and ensure Onnec RAMS are current and fulfilled. Support PPQ requirements and help organize the existing database. Assist in incident investigations, providing clear Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and ensuring thorough investigation processes. Perform quality assurance and compliance checks, reviewing documentation and identifying issues. Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses to identify root causes and implement preventive measures. What we\’re looking for in our EHS Compliance Officer: Relevant experience in EHS Compliance. Knowledge of health, safety, environmental, and quality practices, with the ability to communicate legislative requirements effectively. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to collaborate across all departments. Good communication skills, with the ability to deliver safety and compliance presentations to internal and external audiences. Comfort working within the construction industry. A relevant degree in environmental science, civil engineering, or a related construction discipline is desirable. Working towards or holding graduate-level IOSH membership.
