Responsibilities
- Work a 24x7x365 shift pattern of 4 days on/4 days off and 4 nights on/4 nights off.
- Change control management.
- Incident management and resolution.
- Management and tracking of assets.
- Supervision and escorting of 3rd‑party vendors.
- Plan and implement all IT hardware installations in accordance with strict Data Centre Standards.
- Plan and decommission network hardware and structured cabling.
- Update all relevant documentation and inventories.
- Complete all service requests within the agreed SLA.
- Ensure compliance with ONNEC and client health & safety procedures, manufacturers’ and quality standards, and approved processes.
- Enforce security procedures for Data Centres.
- Maintain Data Centre toolsets to support and manage operations.
- Govern DC operations and work closely with facilities providers to maximize energy‑efficiency savings.
- Run day‑to‑day Data Centre activities, including installations, decommissions, changes, and maintenance.
- Lead Data Centre related service‑improvement projects.
- Perform basic server configuration (IDRAC, ILO), fault finding and escalation.
- Carry out racking, stacking, moves, changes, decommissioning, and patching.
- Manage major Data Centre infrastructure projects such as power outages and replacements.
- Handle complex inter‑rack/room cable infrastructure to provide a stable platform for IT infrastructure and desktop connectivity.
Qualifications
- Experience working in high‑risk environments and data centres.
- Knowledge of DCIM tools and standards (desirable).
- Experience with Service Now, Remedy, or other ticketing systems (desirable).
- Attention to detail and proactive approach.
- Sound knowledge of infrastructure technologies and networking concepts.
- Competence in MS Office and help‑desk/service delivery applications.
- Strong organisational, interpersonal, and administrative skills.
- Reliable individual and team player.
- Ability to work under pressure.
- Self‑initiative and ability to work unsupervised.
- Flexible approach to shift patterns.
- Effective written and verbal communication at all levels.
