If you are an outstanding Science Teacher, or determined to become one, we would very much like to hear from you. You will join an excellent team, strongly committed to reflecting on its teaching techniques and sharing excellent resources.
You will work within the hugely popular Science department in our £6 million building - a spacious, well-resourced facility that has further enhanced the College's reputation for Science and provided a fitting environment to deliver the outstanding teaching and learning enjoyed by our students and staff.
You may be teaching across a range of Level 3 science subjects (A Level and/or Vocational or a mixture of courses) and therefore flexibility and a willingness to teach outside of a particular specialism is crucial. We are looking for an outstanding teaching practitioner and team player.
This could therefore be a great opportunity for a teacher who is looking to move into sixth form teaching from secondary teaching and would suit a teacher who may have trained to deliver GCSE Combined Science, as well as across the GCSE Science range of Biology, Chemistry and Physics.
The College OFSTED has judged Barton Peveril to be Outstanding across all four key judgements: quality of education, behaviour and attitudes, personal development, and leadership and management. You will be joining a college that achieves excellent student outcomes and is focused on continually exploring and reviewing the most effective teaching and learning strategies.
We enjoy a long established reputation for looking after our students and taking an interest in young people as we prepare them for a successful future through a broad education. We are committed to investing in the continuous professional development and training of our staff, and to their wellbeing.
We know that, to a very large extent, it is because of the remarkable talent and dedication of our staff, that Barton Peveril is now one of the largest and most successful sixth form colleges in the country. We welcome applications from unqualified, newly qualified and experienced teachers. The role is available to start from August 2026.
