We are seeking to expand our hourly paid Lecturer pool and invite applications from enthusiastic, skilled, and industry-experienced professionals across a range of subject areas. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking for flexible teaching work within a dynamic and supportive Further Education environment. As part of our hourly paid Lecturer pool, you will deliver high-quality teaching and learning on an ad hoc basis to support curriculum delivery across the College. Opportunities may arise across a variety of subject areas, depending on business needs. You will play a key role in supporting student success, delivering engaging sessions, and contributing to a positive learning experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality teaching sessions in your specialist subject area
  • Prepare and adapt learning materials to meet learner needs
  • Assess student work and provide constructive feedback
  • Support student progress, engagement, and achievement
  • Maintain accurate academic records as required
  • Contribute to a positive and inclusive learning environment
  • Comply with college policies, including safeguarding and health and safety

Essential – Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Relevant qualification or significant industry experience in your subject area

Teaching Qualifications & Salary Banding

To be eligible for our Qualified Lecturer salary banding (£31,837 - £48,160), you must hold one of the following teaching qualifications:

  • DTTLS (Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector)
  • Certificate in Education
  • PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education)
  • ProfGCE (Professional Graduate Certificate in Education)
  • DET (Diploma in Education and Training)
  • DiT (Diploma in Teaching) – if for a vocational subject

If you do not hold one of the above qualifications, you will fall into our Unqualified Lecturer salary banding (£26,661 - £29,998).
