We are looking to appoint a talented and passionate Head of Organisational Development and People Projects to lead transformational people initiatives across the Sandwell Colleges. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced HR and organisational development professional to shape culture, drive engagement and support strategic change across a dynamic Further Education environment.
About The Role
As Head of Organisational Development and People Projects, you will lead the development and delivery of organisational development strategies, people-focused projects and cultural initiatives that support the delivery of the College’s strategic objectives. Working collaboratively with leaders across the organisation, you will drive continuous improvement in employee engagement, leadership development, workforce planning, wellbeing and organisational effectiveness. You will play a key role in embedding a positive and inclusive culture while driving change and improvement for the benefit of our people across all Sandwell College campuses. This is a strategic and highly visible role, ideal for someone who is passionate about people development, innovation, and delivering impactful organisational change. You will also be comfortable with travelling between our campuses as needed.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and deliver organisational development strategies and people projects across the Colleges
- Drive initiatives that support employee engagement, wellbeing, leadership development, and organisational culture
- Support strategic workforce planning and talent development initiatives
- Lead change management and continuous improvement activities
- Work closely with senior leaders to support organisational transformation and people strategy delivery
- Develop and implement staff development, succession planning, and leadership programmes
- Analyse people data and organisational trends to inform strategic decision-making
- Promote equality, diversity, inclusion, and wellbeing across all areas of the organisation
- Build effective relationships with stakeholders across the College and external partners
- Ensure compliance with employment legislation, HR best practice and College policies
Essential Skills, Knowledge & Expertise
- Degree or professional qualification in HR, Organisational Development, or related field
- CIPD qualification or equivalent professional experience
- Significant experience leading organisational development or strategic HR initiatives
- Project management qualification or experience managing large-scale projects
- Strong experience managing change and delivering people-focused projects
- Excellent communication, influencing, and stakeholder management skills
- Experience of leading and developing teams
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Commitment to equality, diversity, inclusion, and staff wellbeing
Desirable
- Experience working within Further Education or the public sector
- Experience developing leadership and talent programmes
