We are seeking a highly organised and proactive Construction Technician to join our Construction team at Sandwell College. Working closely with the Head of Technician, teaching staff and students, you will support the delivery of practical construction sessions by preparing materials, maintaining workshops, and ensuring a safe and effective learning environment aligned with industry standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare materials and resources as directed by tutors to support practical lessons
  • Set up and clear down work areas, including safe disposal of materials
  • Maintain clean, safe and organised workshop environments
  • Issue tools and equipment to students and maintain accurate records
  • Monitor stock levels and report shortages
  • Maintain and update stock inventories and support planning of practical activities with tutors

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • Level 3 Trade Related Qualification
  • Relevant experience within the construction industry
  • Experience working with construction tools, equipment and machinery
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Experience working within a further education or training environment
  • First Aid at Work and Manual Handling certification (or willingness to undertake training)
