An opportunity has arisen for a proactive and experienced individual to join the School of Health, Education & Care as an Assessor. The role would be ideal for someone seeking to have a positive effect on the lives and learning experience of our Childcare students. There is the potential to assess students across Level 2 Early Years and T Level Education Programs. The successful applicant will need to have the necessary skills to support Further Education learners and be part of a large team thriving in a dynamic learning environment. The right candidate will be someone with up-to-date industry knowledge in Childcare and an understanding of the diverse range of students with differing needs in the FE sector. The ideal candidate will be proactive, flexible and student-centred with the ability to provide pastoral care and be a strong role model for our students.
Responsibilities:
- Arrange DBS checks and maintain a record of checks.
- Build and maintain relationships with local employers, and create new employer links.
- Liaise with employers and monitor learner progress whilst on placement.
- Assess learners in their placement setting in line with awarding organisation expectations.
- Utilise a personal car and valid driving licence; fuel for miles covered during visits will be reimbursed.
Qualifications:
- A relevant degree or level 3 qualification.
- Industry experience in childcare.
- Assessors’ qualification.
- Desirable experience assessing T-Level qualifications.
- Up-to-date industry knowledge and understanding of diverse FE learner needs.
This is a part-time role, working 30 hours per week, based at our Watford and Hemel Hempstead campuses. The role offers flexible daytime hours. Training and development are at the heart of everything we do, and you will have the full support of a dynamic team and opportunities to bring your ideas to the role.
