This role is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic and professional individual with a sporting background to join a forward-thinking college in the development and teaching of a range of Sport courses, with a strong focus on multi skills coaching and collaborative partnerships across schools and community settings.

The primary focus of the role will be the planning and delivery of further education Sport programmes that embed multi skills coaching principles and support strong partnership working with local schools, community organisations and external stakeholders.

You will be responsible for delivering a variety of applied theoretical and practical elements of qualifications such as Coaching and Leadership, BTEC and related apprenticeship provision, embedding real-world coaching experiences within school and community environments.

You will ideally be educated to at least Level 3 in Coaching or Degree Level in a sport-based qualification and possess a relevant teaching qualification.

The role requires high levels of self-motivation, energy and autonomy to deliver and continually enhance programmes that provide outstanding learning experiences and meaningful community impact.

You will create a supportive and professional learning environment that develops learners academically, practically and personally.

You will be organised, with excellent time management and administrative skills, and able to build and sustain positive relationships with school leaders, community partners, employers and students.

You will demonstrate excellent written and verbal communication skills, strong organisational ability, and a flexible and professional approach.

A full-time post carries 828 delivery hours.

Responsibilities

  • To lead the planning, delivery and assessment of FE Sport programmes with a focus on multi skills coaching and school/community partnership delivery, in line with Awarding Body requirements and the College Learning Framework.
  • To contribute to internal and external verification processes across relevant sport programmes.
  • To plan, deliver and assess Sport qualifications in line with Awarding Body requirements and the College Learning Framework.
  • To develop and embed best practice in learning, teaching and assessment, ensuring consistency, standardisation and high-quality learner experiences.
  • To design, develop and monitor resources that support multi skills coaching, inclusive practice and community-based delivery.
  • To assess learners according to established guidelines and prepare them thoroughly for internal and external assessment.
  • To proactively identify strategies to improve student performance, engagement and success rates, particularly within practical and partnership-based environments.
  • To complete documentation and maintain accurate records of student progress, attendance and performance.
  • To monitor and manage student attendance and maintain appropriate standards of behaviour in line with college procedures.
  • To keep up to date with curriculum developments, sector initiatives, safeguarding expectations and evolving community sport priorities.
  • To implement quality procedures and contribute to evaluative programme reviews and the self-assessment process.
  • To support the development and strengthening of collaborative partnerships with schools, community organisations and external stakeholders to enhance student experience and progression opportunities.
  • To engage in continuous professional development relevant to sport education, multi skills coaching and community engagement.
