An exciting fixed term appointment has arisen for an experienced, talented and highly motivated individual to join the Business and Technology Learning area. With recent successful experience of teaching A Level Economics in a post-16 setting, the ideal candidate should possess an Economics or related degree and hold a recognised teaching qualification. Based at the Gorseinon Campus, the successful candidate will deliver A Level Economics and the Skills Challenge Certificate. Employing a variety of teaching, learning and assessment strategies, you will engage, inspire and challenge all learners to achieve their individual potential. Ensuring excellence in teaching and learning is a key priority for the College and you will be expected to make a full contribution to team meetings and have a positive impact on the overall quality of this subject area.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high quality teaching and learning, effectively monitor and track learner progress, creating a positive environment to enable all learners to reach their full potential across all courses.
  • Keep up to date with examination board developments and ensure all external requirements are met.
  • Work with the Learning Area Manager to set targets and monitor performance in recruitment, attendance, retention, attainment, and successful completion.
  • Commit to continuous improvement, contribute effectively to curriculum development, extracurricular activity and assist with the planning and marketing of courses.

About You

  • Possess a degree in Economics or other relevant degree.
  • Hold a recognised teaching qualification or be willing to work towards one.
  • Demonstrate highly successful experience of teaching A Level Economics.
  • Have excellent organisational skills and be a team player.
  • Be prepared to work flexibly to meet the needs of the curriculum and its learners.
