The predicted salary is between 13 - 23 £ per hour.

£13.92 per hour (inc. £1.50 holiday pay) - £23 (inc. £2.34 holiday pay) per hour

Package: 20 Holiday Days (148 hours) + 8 Bank Holidays (59.2 hours) - this includes a discretionary Christmas closure period. 3% Employer Pension Contribution into NEST Pension Scheme.

About The Role

Working for our subsidiary company Sparks Teaching Services as a Basketball Coach, you’ll be responsible for the planning, delivery, and organisation of high-quality Basketball coaching sessions for students enrolled in the course at the College, in partnership with the Sheffield Elite Academy. The role involves working collaboratively to develop student athletes, both technically and personally, supporting progression into elite sport, further education, or employment.

Main Responsibilities

  • Deliver engaging, safe, and progressive Basketball coaching sessions to students aged 16–19.
  • Plan and coordinate weekly training schedules, fixtures, and competitive games in collaboration with Sheffield Elite Academy staff and The Sheffield College curriculum team.
  • Monitor player development, performance, and welfare, ensuring holistic support for each student‑athlete.
  • Contribute to player reviews, individual development plans (IDPs), and ensure progress is regularly tracked and recorded.
  • Support the academic and pastoral development of students by working closely with college staff.
  • Organise and manage travel, equipment, and logistics for training and match days.
  • Promote professionalism, discipline, and a positive team culture among players.
  • Attend relevant meetings, CPD opportunities, and represent the programme positively at internal and external events.
  • Comply with safeguarding, health and safety, and equality and diversity policies of The Sheffield College.
