The Role

The role of a Computing Technician is fundamental to the successful delivery of our curriculum. We are seeking an approachable individual with a proactive "can-do" attitude who can work effectively with students, teaching staff, and external partners. It is essential to remain agile and solution-focused, demonstrating the ability to pivot quickly in response to evolving situations. Strong time management and organisational skills are vital, as you will be expected to manage your own workload and prioritise tasks to meet shifting business requirements. In this varied role, where no two days are the same, the ideal candidate will possess the necessary technical expertise while actively fostering a positive team culture. You should be passionate about supporting students through technical challenges, with a particular talent for translating complex technical solutions into clear, accessible guidance. Working closely with both peers and students, you will ensure that technical support remains a seamless and integrated part of the learning experience.

What Will You Bring To The Role

  • Strategic Thinking – the ability to identify patterns, understand rules, and apply knowledge in new situations. We are looking for a technician who can identify underlying patterns in system behaviour and creatively apply their technical knowledge to solve unique, evolving challenges.
  • Problem Solving – Identifying solutions to novel or complex problems. You will be responsible for diagnosing and resolving complex, novel technical issues that require a systematic and resourceful approach.
  • Decision Making – Remaining focused and attentive, to absorb new information. The successful candidate must remain focused under pressure, quickly absorbing new information to make sound technical decisions in real-time.
  • Adapting – Handling work responsibilities and projects by switching efficiently between tasks. You must demonstrate the ability to pivot seamlessly between urgent support requests and long-term projects while maintaining high standards of work.
