The Role
We are seeking an experienced and inspiring Programme Leader to join the Digital and Creative team at Oldham College. This role will provide leadership across the Digital Technologies curriculum area, ensuring high standards of teaching, learning, assessment, student achievement, and progression. Working closely with the Head of Faculty, you will support curriculum development, quality assurance, staff mentoring, and continuous improvement activities while ensuring programmes meet the needs of learners, employers, awarding bodies, and the wider College priorities. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate education professional with strong industry knowledge and leadership experience within Further Education or a related setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and coordinate teaching, learning, and assessment activities across the Digital Technologies curriculum area
- Monitor attendance, retention, achievement, progression, and other key performance indicators to drive continuous improvement
- Support and develop Programme Tutors to maintain high standards of teaching, learning, and assessment
- Lead curriculum planning, assessment processes, standardisation, internal verification, and quality assurance activities
- Contribute to learner recruitment, open events, curriculum promotion, and wider College activities, including occasional evenings and weekends
- Carry out duties in line with College policies and procedures, including safeguarding and equality commitments
Skills and Experience
- A recognised teaching qualification at Level 5 or above
- Significant industry experience within a relevant Digital or Computing discipline
- Experience of leading or coordinating curriculum delivery within Further Education or a similar environment
- Strong understanding of curriculum planning, quality assurance, assessment, and verification processes
- Excellent communication, organisational, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and support learners and colleagues alike
