About The Role

As Exams Manager you will lead the planning, coordination and delivery of examination services across the College, ensuring examinations are delivered efficiently, securely and in full compliance with awarding body regulations. Leading the Examinations Team and invigilator workforce, you will play a key role in ensuring an excellent learner experience through effective communication, strong operational management and continuous improvement. Working collaboratively with curriculum teams, support services, awarding organisations and external stakeholders you will help ensure examination processes are accurate, responsive and student‑focused.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the Examinations Team and invigilator workforce, providing support, coaching and development to ensure high standards of service delivery.
  • Manage the planning, coordination and delivery of examinations, ensuring processes are compliant, accurate and efficiently managed across the College.
  • Oversee examination timetables, entries, venues, resources and results processes to ensure examinations are delivered securely and effectively.
  • Act as the key point of contact for examination‑related matters, building effective relationships with curriculum teams, students, awarding organisations and external stakeholders.
  • Drive continuous improvement by reviewing systems, processes and performance data to enhance efficiency, customer experience and service quality.
  • Carry out duties in line with College policies and procedures, including safeguarding and equality commitments.

Skills And Experience

  • Qualified to GCSE level (or equivalent) including English and Maths, alongside a relevant Level 3 qualification.
  • Experience supervising or coordinating teams within examinations, administrative or operational environments.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines and maintain accuracy within fast‑paced environments.
  • Excellent communication, problem‑solving and relationship‑building skills with a customer‑focused approach.
  • Good knowledge of examination processes, awarding body requirements and regulations and the ability to use data, systems and technology effectively to support service delivery.
