We have an exciting opportunity for a Learning Support Assistant to join our team at Loughborough College Group, based at Loughborough College. The Learning Support team are seeking to recruit Learning Support Assistants (LSAs) to provide a range of high‑quality support to learners with identified learning difficulties and/or disabilities across the working week Monday – Friday 08:45 – 16:30.
Responsibilities
- Support learners in a sensitive, professional, discrete and confidential manner
- Encourage personal and academic independence, self‑empowerment and self‑help skills wherever possible
- Contribute to the development of individual learning programmes in liaison with Support Coordinators and course tutors
- Ensure that learners are receiving the appropriate level of support and report any issues to the Support Coordinators
Qualifications
- 12 months of experience working with young people
- Sound knowledge of safeguarding procedures
- At least a Level 2 qualification, GCSE grade 4 or above (or equivalent) in Maths and English
- Flexible and can‑do approach, committed to teamwork
- Positive approach towards all learners
- Excellent communication skills that enable effective working with a range of students and staff
