We are currently looking for Lecturers in GCSE English. We have both full-time and part-time hours available on both fixed-term and permanent contracts. In this role, the post holder will provide students with a rewarding and appropriately challenging learning experience, enabling them to reach their full potential and achieve the best possible outcomes, while contributing to the continuous improvement of teaching and learning and promoting a positive overall college experience, alongside undertaking a teaching load in line with the agreed contract. There may also be opportunities to support delivery across other levels of English, depending on expertise and timetabling.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality GCSE English teaching in line with curriculum requirements
  • Use ILT and innovative teaching methods to enhance learning
  • Contribute to curriculum development and course planning
  • Support student progress through effective tracking, assessment, and feedback
  • Participate in course leadership and quality improvement activities
  • Work collaboratively within course teams to ensure high standards of delivery
  • Support the development of effective student support systems

Skills, Knowledge And Expertise

  • Degree or relevant professional qualification in English (or related field)
  • Level 5 teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards)
  • Experience delivering GCSE English with strong outcomes
  • Ability to engage, inspire, and motivate learners
  • Strong organisational and communication skills
  • Ability to adapt teaching approaches to meet diverse learner needs
