The role: Full Time Maternity Cover - Fixed Term 1 Year. An exciting fixed term appointment has arisen for an experienced, talented and highly motivated individual to join the Business and Technology Learning area. With recent successful experience of teaching A Level Economics in a post-16 setting, the ideal candidate should possess an Economics or related degree and hold a recognised teaching qualification. Based at the Gorseinon Campus, the successful candidate will deliver A Level Economics and the Skills Challenge Certificate. Employing a variety of teaching, learning and assessment strategies, you will engage, inspire and challenge all learners to achieve their individual potential. Ensuring excellence in teaching and learning is a key priority for the College and you will be expected to make a full contribution to team meetings and have a positive impact on the overall quality of this subject area. You will have good organisational and communication skills which allow you to monitor learner progress and provide effective feedback throughout the academic year. This is a superb fixed term opportunity for a first class applicant to join an established department and work in a College with an excellent reputation for A Level delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high quality teaching and learning, effectively monitor and track learner progress, creating a positive environment to enable all learners to reach their full potential across all courses.
- Keep up to date with examination board developments and ensure all external requirements are met.
- Work with the Learning Area Manager to set targets and monitor performance in recruitment, attendance, retention, attainment, and successful completion.
- Commit to continuous improvement, contribute effectively to curriculum development, extracurricular activity and assist with the planning and marketing of courses.
About you:
- Possess Degree in Economics or other relevant degree.
- Hold a recognised teaching qualification or willing to work towards this qualification.
- Able to demonstrate highly successful experience of teaching A level Economics.
- Excellent organisational skills and a team player.
- Be prepared to work flexibly to meet needs of the curriculum and its learners.
