About the Role

Reporting to the Curriculum Manager, the lecturer will deliver high‑quality teaching and assessment across Levels 1, 2 and 3 equine programmes, coordinating, leading and delivering a blend of theory and practical units and supporting students to maximise their potential.

  • Deliver engaging, high‑quality teaching and assessment across a range of equine theory and practical units, including riding, coaching, business, yard management and behaviour.
  • Inspire and motivate learners with differing abilities, ensuring a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.
  • Act as a personal tutor, providing guidance, monitoring progress and supporting students’ personal, academic and employability development.
  • Contribute to curriculum development, quality improvement activity and external awarding organisation processes.
  • Work collaboratively within a high‑performing team to continuously enhance the student experience.

About You

  • Highly organised, student‑focused with recent, relevant industry experience.
  • You ideally hold a degree or professional qualification, a BHS Stage 3 or 4 Instructor qualification, and are willing to work towards a recognised teaching qualification.
  • Strong experience in riding instruction and coaching across a wide range of abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a calm and supportive approach.
  • A clear understanding of student welfare, safeguarding and high standards of health and safety when working with horses.
  • Confidence in using digital tools, including Microsoft Teams, to enhance teaching and learning.
  • A genuine commitment to equality, diversity and helping every student succeed.
