Hours: Full time (37hrs per week, all year round)

About the Role

This pivotal role demands a leader with a relentless focus on providing excellent education and training. You'll have overall leadership and management responsibility for our vibrant Rotherham campus, overseeing its day-to-day operations and strategic direction.

As Director of Campus, you will be instrumental in:

  • Leading and managing the Rotherham campus on a day-to-day basis, ensuring seamless operations.
  • Driving curriculum planning, delivery strategy, and performance improvement across all provision types. This includes Higher Education, day-release apprenticeships, and supporting vulnerable learners such as looked-after children, home-educated students, and those with high needs.
  • Developing and implementing long and medium-term strategies to ensure the Rotherham campus excels in responding to local and regional skills agendas through innovative curriculum plans.
  • Contributing to group-wide strategic planning, addressing challenges, setting future priorities, and achieving funding targets and market share growth, particularly in key areas.
  • Ensuring staff are skilled and motivated to deliver innovative education that meets the needs of our students and local employers, fostering strong progress in personal, social, and vocational skills.
  • Providing operational management and oversight for campus teams, collaborating with accountable managers to ensure all students at the Rotherham campus and University Centre Rotherham (UCR) receive high-quality education and support to overcome barriers.
  • Utilising commercial insight and partnership experience to build strong relationships with civic and community stakeholders, local authorities, schools, employers, and organisations within the SYMCA and Sheffield City region.
  • Working collaboratively as a key member of the Group's leadership and management team to uphold and advance our mission, vision, and values.

You will be…

We’re looking for an inspiring leader with:

  • A track record of successful curriculum and quality leadership within a Further Education setting.
  • Demonstrable outstanding and motivational leadership to drive high performance and professional practice.
  • A clear understanding of the key external influences impacting the FE sector, coupled with the ability to be flexible and adapt to changing environments.
  • Experience in managing successful curriculum provision and a commitment to continuous improvement.
  • The ability to foster strong relationships with diverse stakeholders.

You will hold a Level 2 (or equivalent) qualification in English and Maths, a degree or equivalent vocationally relevant qualification as well as a teaching qualification and relevant CPD activities.

Department Info

You will report directly to the Vice Principal - Curriculum and play a crucial role in achieving corporate objectives as a member of the Senior Leadership Team. You will be responsible for the line management of four Curriculum Managers and work closely with other Directors and senior leaders across the Group.
