Sandwell College Group is seeking a dedicated and experienced Careers Officer to join the Careers Team. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering the College Group's Careers Strategy, Careers Plan, and Careers Education Programme while providing impartial, confidential, and high-quality Information, advice and Guidance (IAG) services to learners across our campuses.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver one-to-one careers guidance and group sessions
  • Support the delivery of the College's Careers Education Programme
  • Coordinate careers events, workshops, and UCAS activities
  • Build relationships with employers, universities, and external organisations
  • Monitor and report on learner engagement, progression, and careers-related KPIs
  • Support the College in meeting Gatsby Benchmarks and careers quality standards
  • Attend external meetings and represent the College when required
  • Keep learners and staff informed about career opportunities, labour market trends, and progression routes

Skills, Knowledge And Expertise

  • Level 6 qualification in Advice and Guidance (or equivalent)
  • Careers Guidance qualification, ideally at Level 6
  • Experience delivering careers advice and guidance in an educational setting
  • Experience working with young people, including those with additional needs
  • Experience of UCAS processes and higher education progression
  • Knowledge of Gatsby Benchmarks and careers quality frameworks
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle or ability to travel to our different sites
