Key Tasks And Responsibilities
- Join SGS during a period of growth and innovation, including projects such as a £7 million investment into a new STEM and Media Centre, a new Construction‑based Apprenticeship training campus (H38) and an ambitious Five‑Year strategic plan (2026‑2031).
- Be an integral member of a growing Career Professionals’ team of 10 and participate in comprehensive continuous professional development via peer meetings and conference attendance.
- Advisers with careers education, information, advice and guidance (CEIAG) expertise to widen student choice and help them unlock their potential alongside academic and pastoral staff.
- Collaboratively deliver creative and engaging CEIAG activities, developing digital resources and tools and offering one‑to‑one guidance and group work to a diverse range of students, primarily aged 16 to 19, who need extra support in setting aspirational goals or broadening their horizons.
Beneficial Skills & Qualifications
- Qualified at or working towards a Level 6 or 7 Careers Guidance standard (or equivalent coaching qualification), with proven experience advising 16–19‑year‑old students.
- Knowledge and experience of careers resources and/or services, providing support to enable clients to access learning or work.
- Experience of working in a School or Further Education sector.
- Confident in the use of career software tools to supplement 1:1 guidance.
- Confident in presenting and leading careers‑related workshops to small groups.
- Outgoing.
