About the Role:
SGS College is seeking an enthusiastic and inspiring Psychology Lecturer to join our thriving Sixth Form provision. This is an exciting opportunity to help students develop a deep understanding of psychological research and how it relates to the real world. You will be responsible for delivering engaging and challenging lessons that support students to achieve excellent outcomes, while fostering a passion for the subject.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver high-quality teaching across A Level Psychology
- Plan, prepare and assess lessons in line with awarding body specifications (AQA)
- Monitor and support student progress, using data to inform teaching
- Create an inclusive and stimulating learning environment
- Support learners with coursework, exam preparation, and academic skills
- Contribute to course development and quality improvement
- Act as a personal tutor, providing pastoral support and guidance
- Participate in enrichment activities, trips, and wider college events
About You:
- Holds a degree in Psychology or a closely related subject
- Has a recognised teaching qualification (or willingness to work towards one)
- Has experience teaching A Level Psychology (desirable but not essential)
- Demonstrates strong subject knowledge and enthusiasm for Psychology
- Has excellent communication and organisational skills
- Is committed to inclusive practice and student success
- Can motivate and inspire learners from a diverse range of backgrounds
