Overview
Our Apprenticeships and Business Development department is recruiting a Curriculum Team Leader to develop and manage the College’s curriculum areas.
The role oversees operational matters, curriculum delivery, business development and recruitment within the assigned curriculum areas.
Responsibilities
- Manage the performance of courses, including student enrolment, retention and achievement targets; quality of teaching and learning; observations, appraisal and staff development; student satisfaction and equality and diversity targets.
- Maintain records, registers and timetables for staff and students in accordance with internal management information systems and external audit regimes.
- Ensure systems are in place for effective Initial Advice and Guidance and use programme MIS data to support desired outcomes.
- Provide teaching at a level agreed with the Head of Department and Curriculum Area Manager.
- Oversee the overall management of the curriculum team.
- Lead business development and recruitment for the curriculum areas.
- Manage the curriculum’s physical resources and maintain a safe, secure learning environment with regular risk assessments.
- Contribute to the collegial culture, mission and strategic objectives and collaborate with colleagues across the College.
- Support the Head of Department and Curriculum Area Manager in related duties.

Education & Training
- GCSE 4–9 or equivalent Level 2 qualification in Maths. May be required to pass a test to demonstrate Level 2 ability, with subsequent attainment within an agreed timescale.
- GCSE 4–9 or equivalent Level 2 qualification in English. May be required to pass a test to demonstrate Level 2 ability, with subsequent attainment within an agreed timescale.
- A relevant Bachelor’s degree or appropriate professional qualification.
- A recognised teaching qualification.
Experience
- Experience managing curriculum delivery within Further Education.
- Experience in course development and recruitment.
- Experience in student pastoral care and disciplinary procedures.
- Experience interpreting data sets to inform performance management.
- Academic, industrial or commercial experience relevant to the programme.
- Experience in good teaching/training.
- Experience in course leadership responsibilities.
