The Role
As a key member of the Colleges’ Leadership Team and one of a team of Heads of School within the College, you will report to the Executive Director of Student Support and Experience. You will be responsible for the leadership and the efficient and effective running of all aspects of the English and Maths School.
You will be responsible for delivering the departmental business plan and achieving departmental targets in relation to curriculum, student recruitment, achievement, quality, finance, people and corporate services. You will also provide strong academic planning and operational leadership at School level within the directorate and have specific responsibility for developing and overseeing educational, scholarship and professional practice across the School.
What are we looking for?
We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual who possesses a degree level qualification in Maths or English or equivalent experience in an educational setting, as well as recognised teaching qualification at level 4 or above. You will also have or be willing to work towards a leadership and management qualification.
With a recent background of working within the FE sector in a key management position, you will have a track record of successful curriculum management and ideally have experience of implementing English and Maths intervention programmes outside of the classroom with clear measured impact.
With excellent interpersonal skills, you will have the ability to provide direction and leadership that inspires confidence and commitment from others whilst building positive relationships to bring about improvements.
