Cadbury College is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Lecturer in Psychology to join our Humanities department. This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate educator to inspire students, deliver outstanding teaching and contribute to a vibrant and supportive learning environment. Reporting to the Head of Section, you will play a key role in ensuring students have a rewarding and challenging experience, supporting them to achieve their full potential and maximise outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high‑quality Psychology programmes as directed by the line manager
  • Participate in curriculum development and course planning
  • Maintain accurate academic and administrative records
  • Provide course leadership, tutoring and pastoral support for learners
  • Develop engaging learning materials using ILT and multimedia resources
  • Support student recruitment activities including open events and interviews
  • Contribute to continuous improvement in teaching, learning and assessment
  • Work collaboratively within course teams to ensure excellent student outcomes

Skills, Knowledge and Expertise

  • A degree and/or relevant professional qualification in Psychology or a related subject
  • Certificate in Education or Level 5 Teaching Qualification
  • Experience of excellent teaching and learning practice
  • Ability to motivate and inspire students from diverse backgrounds
  • Strong organisational, administrative and presentation skills
  • Experience developing engaging learning materials and using ILT effectively
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and under pressure
  • Commitment to equality, diversity, inclusion and safeguarding

Teaching Qualifications & Salary Banding

To be eligible for our Qualified Lecturer salary banding (£31,837 - £48,160), you must hold one of the following teaching qualifications:

  • DTTLS (Diploma in Teaching in the Lifelong Learning Sector)
  • Certificate in Education
  • PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education)
  • ProfGCE (Professional Graduate Certificate in Education)
  • DET (Diploma in Education and Training)
  • DiT (Diploma in Teaching) – if for a vocational subject

If you do not hold one of the above qualifications, you will fall into our Unqualified Lecturer salary banding (£26,661 - £29,998).
