The predicted salary is between 15000 - 20000 £ per year.
(15 hours per week 9am – 12am Monday - Friday, fixed term until end of June 2027; term time only over 37.6 weeks) We are seeking to appoint an Attendance Administrator to monitor and chase students’ attendance. You will be responsible for making initial contact with students whose attendance is becoming a concern, providing reports and arranging intervention sessions between the student and curriculum staff. Working with a high level of autonomy, you will co‑ordinate initial contact with all learners who present with low attendance.
You will have a working knowledge of office technology packages, including word processing applications, databases and spreadsheets. You would need to have an understanding of some of the barriers that affect attendance. You will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills as you will be the first line of contact with internal and external partners regarding attendance including arranging intervention bookings, meetings etc. You should be flexible and adaptable, be able to work under pressure to tight deadlines and maintain accuracy and quality of outcomes at all times. You will be required to work on your own initiative as required as well as liaising with the curriculum and support teams across college. It is essential that you have the ability to build positive relationships, displaying excellent communication, organisational skills and administrative skills, demonstrating a flexible and professional attitude. Responsibilities
- To provide and maintain a high‑quality administration system for supporting and tracking attendance processes.
- To contact absent students in line with the college attendance procedure.
- To provide support for students who present attendance issues.
- To triangulate information between curriculum and student support prior to making contact with the student, parent/guardian.
- To ensure students records are kept up to date and accurate and to provide data and reports as and when required.
- To work closely with the Welfare team, Attendance Coaches, Support Coach and Heads of Department to ensure information is shared appropriately and deadlines and action plans are met.
- To arrange attendance meetings, organise diaries, distributing agenda, take notes and prepare minutes.
- To liaise with internal and external customers and agencies as necessary.
- To maintain strict confidentiality and discretion at all times.
- Using the appropriate method ensure all student action plans and achievements are entered effectively and within appropriate timescales to achieve timely frameworks.
- Handle student enquiries via telephone and face‑to‑face, online and accurately administer bookings.
- Work as part of a team as well as work independently.
- Attend team meetings either face to face or via Microsoft Teams.
