About Only the Blind
Only the Blind is a London-based premium fashion brand founded in 2016, known for its focus on craftsmanship, quality fabrics and detailed embroidery. Designed in our London studio and produced with specialist overseas manufacturing partners, the brand is sold globally online and through select retailers. We are a small, hands‑on team working closely together in our Queens Park studio, with a strong emphasis on organisation, accountability and execution.
About the role
We are looking for a Studio & Production Assistant to take ownership of the technical, organisational and day‑to‑day production execution of the brand. This role exists to remove operational and technical workload from the Creative Director and Product Developer, allowing them to focus on creative direction and higher‑level production decisions. You will be responsible for turning design direction into accurate, well‑organised technical outputs and keeping production, samples and the studio running smoothly. This is a hands‑on, execution‑led role suited to someone who is highly organised, proactive and comfortable working independently without constant instruction. This is not a design role, an intern role, or a purely administrative position.
Key responsibilities
- Technical & Production Coordination (Primary)
- Create and update tech packs based on Creative Director and Product Developer direction.
- Coordinate with overseas factories on samples, timelines and updates.
- Research and identify potential new factories or suppliers for small projects or specific product needs, handling initial outreach and communication.
- Track sampling and production progress, flagging issues or delays early.
- Own sample tracking, organisation and movement, maintaining accurate production and sample trackers.
- Maintain studio systems for samples, fabrics and trims.
- Support showroom preparation and collection organisation.
- Keep the studio organised, functional and well‑run on a daily basis, managing studio administration and organisation.
- Operational Support
- Prepare and update line sheets using agreed templates.
- Support the planning and organisation of photoshoots, including:
- Preparing and organising garments
- Tracking samples before and after shoots
- Assisting on shoot days (steaming, garment handling, logistics)
What this role is (and isn’t)
This role is:
- Execution‑focused and ownership‑led
- Technical and process‑driven
- A key operational backbone of the business
- Suited to someone who takes initiative and fixes problems without being asked
This role is not:
- A design or creative role
- An intern or training‑only role
- A remote or hybrid role
Who we’re looking for
- 1–2+ years’ experience in a studio, production, technical or assistant role, within a fashion‑based industry.
- Comfortable creating and managing tech packs and technical documentation.
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail.
- Proactive, reliable and able to work independently in a small team.
- Confident communicating with overseas suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Comfortable working on‑site as part of a fast‑moving studio environment.
What’s in it for you
- A trusted, hands‑on role within a growing independent fashion brand.
- Direct exposure to fashion production, technical development and wholesale preparation.
- Close collaboration with senior team members.
- Modern studio space in North‑West London (Queens Park).
- 25 days holiday plus Bank Holidays, with additional holiday allowance for each year worked.
- 70% staff discount, complimentary items and access to sample sales.
