Role Description

We are seeking a Product Developer to join our small team at our studio in Queen\’s Park, North-West London. This full-time, on-site role will oversee the production, sampling, and product development of the brand\’s products. This is a fast-paced role and requires an individual that is very pro-active with initiative, responsible and can work in a creative, dynamic environment and adapt to the tasks as required.

The Product Developer is responsible for the entire production and sampling process, for on-time delivery of samples and products, to the highest quality, at the right price. This role naturally involves working cross functionally with the design team of the brand, but also alongside sales, marketing and logistics and operations.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure execution of all the brand’s products from concept through to delivery
  • Oversee the production process and provide complete information on costing and technical data.
  • Visit and work closely with manufacturers, communicating with them daily to receive updates, clarify all priorities and technical details, respond to any queries, and convey any adjustments when necessary.
  • Develop and manage design and production timelines, updating schedules, deliveries, and comments weekly.
  • Sourcing, selecting, and ordering fabrics, trims and fastenings for new product development
  • Work closely with the design team on the day-to-day development of the collections, ensuring they are aware of and adhering to deadlines and critical path.
  • Ongoing assessment of existing supplier base and sourcing of new suppliers that offer competitive pricing, reliability, and good quality product in line with margin requirements and order volumes, for both existing and new categories of products
  • Negotiate pricing and delivery with suppliers and raise POs and report these to management regularly.
  • Assist with design, development and sourcing of brand packaging and labelling.
  • Creating and amending Tech Packs and other technical files
  • Attend regular meetings for samples alongside the design team and ensure all garments are in accordance with requirements and agreed delivery dates, as well as providing input on proposed amendments, trims etc. and amending tech packs if necessary.
  • Go through QC checks at the warehouse or factory when stock is received and communicate with suppliers if any issues.
  • Raw materials and trim excess reports from the suppliers at the end of each season and managing the inventory across Development to Production.
  • Oversee supplier relationships to ensure all suppliers meet and maintain delivery, quality, and margin expectations.

Qualifications

  • 3+ years’ of production experience
  • Bachelor\’s degree in fashion or related field or relevant work experience
  • Keen interest in fashion and strong knowledge of the industry, especially luxury streetwear
  • Experienced in the Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite programmes and Mac OS & software.
  • Knowledge and understanding of technical specification sheets.
  • Entrepreneurial spirit and dedication
  • Excellent organisational skills and ability to self-prioritise workload
  • Independently self-motivated and enthusiastic to learn
  • Excellent verbal and written skills
  • Team player
  • Outgoing personality and ability to communicate with suppliers and clients
  • Able to multi-task and work at a fast pace, quickly adapting to tasks that come up
  • Good knowledge of garment construction and production methods on both knitted and woven fabrics and soft accessories.
  • A working knowledge of manufacturing operations, pattern making, and materials is also required.
  • Flexible to travel
