We are seeking a motivated and ambitious Legal Executive to join our newly established New Claims Team. This role is ideally suited to a recent law graduate or an individual who has recently completed their LPC or SQE 1 and is looking to take the first step in their legal career. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience within a law firm environment and serves as a stepping stone towards a long-term legal career. You will play a key role in the initial assessment and onboarding of new housing disrepair claims, working closely with experienced legal professionals and contributing to the growth of this new department.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and assess new claims at the onboarding stage.
- Conduct initial vetting of cases to determine their suitability for progression.
- Carry out legal risk assessments on potential claims.
- Review client instructions, evidence, and supporting documentation.
- Prepare, draft, and process legal documents and correspondence.
- Ensure compliance with relevant legal procedures and the Housing Disrepair Pre-Action Protocol.
- Assist with client onboarding and case opening procedures.
- Maintain accurate records and update case management systems.
- Liaise with clients and internal teams to obtain relevant information and documentation.
- Support solicitors and senior members of the team with case preparation and administration.
Candidate Requirements
Essential
- Law degree (LLB) or equivalent legal qualification.
- Completion of the LPC or SQE 1.
- Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to assess information objectively and identify potential legal risks.
