Leeds College of Building is the only further education college in the UK dedicated entirely to construction and the built environment. Since our founding in the 1960s, we have trained over 100,000 students and apprentices, and we are now on an ambitious drive to become the recognised national leader in our sector. Central to achieving that is growing our learner numbers across 16–18 programmes, adult education, apprenticeships and higher-level technical qualifications, and we are creating a dedicated Learner Recruitment function to lead that effort.

To drive this ambition forward, we are looking for an experienced and outcomes-focused Head of Marketing and Learner Recruitment. This is a pivotal new role at the heart of our College Leadership Team. You will build and lead a dedicated team of recruitment and admissions professionals, taking full ownership of our learner pipeline from first contact through to enrolment. You will set targets, manage performance and work collaboratively with faculty colleagues to ensure every classroom is full and every programme recruits to capacity.

You will be the driving force behind our relationships with schools, sixth forms, employers and community partners across Leeds and the wider West Yorkshire region. Your Schools Liaison Officers and Learner Recruitment Officer will be out in the community, and you will direct their activity with purpose and precision. You will also take ownership of all learner-facing recruitment events, including open days and taster sessions, ensuring every interaction reflects the very best of LCB.

You might not know much about LCB, but as the CTEC for Yorkshire and Humber and the only construction-specialist college in the country, we are uniquely placed to tackle the skills shortage that the sector faces. Construction is one of the most prosperous and purposeful industries in the UK, and we need someone who shares our passion for opening it up to as many learners as possible — particularly those who have traditionally been underrepresented. If you are ambitious, commercial in your thinking, and committed to making a measurable difference, we would love to hear from you.

In return, we offer a warm and welcoming college with an excellent benefits package that includes:

  • A 35-day annual leave entitlement, plus 8 Bank Holidays and 10 college closure days.
  • A well-respected pension scheme (West Yorkshire Pension Fund with an above average employer contribution).
  • Free parking at all our College sites (on a first come first served basis).
  • Family friendly policies and opportunities for flexible working.
  • Superb opportunities for training and development.
  • Discounted travel on public transport and a Cycle to work scheme.
  • Discounts and offers at major High Street and Online retailers.
  • Access to an Employee Assistance Programme.

So, if you’d like to make a difference and be part of a unique organisation that supports one of the largest and most exciting employment sectors in the UK, we’d love to hear from you.

Please note that all applications should be completed online. CVs will not be accepted.

The College reserves the right to close this vacancy early if a sufficient number of applications are received. We therefore encourage early applications.

Please note this position is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check and in line with KCSIE (2025) an online check will be conducted on information available in the public domain.

Leeds College of Building is committed to safeguarding children, young people and vulnerable adults. It is also committed to the Prevent programme and the requirement to prevent people being drawn into terrorism and expects all staff to share these commitments.

Leeds College of Building is committed to fostering an inclusive and diverse community. We value the unique perspectives and experiences of individuals from all backgrounds and actively encourage applications from individuals from an ethnic minority and the LGBTQIA+ community, as they are under-represented at our college. Join us in creating a workplace where everyone can thrive to provide the best construction and the built environment education in England.

This role is based in the UK. Home Office guidance states that candidates must evidence their right to work in the UK prior to commencing employment, either as a UK or Irish citizen, under the EU Settlement scheme or having secured any other relevant work visa.
