As a Lecturer in Criminology, you will be part of the Criminology curriculum team, contributing to the delivery, planning, and development of the undergraduate provision (Levels 4, 5, 6). You will teach across identified modules and tutorials, supporting students to achieve their academic potential through effective teaching, assessment, and pastoral support.

The role also provides the opportunity to contribute to wider departmental activity, including involvement in the Criminology Department’s Cold Case Unit and participation in academic and sector-focused symposiums. You will maintain current knowledge of the criminal justice system and contemporary issues within the sector to ensure teaching remains relevant, informed, and aligned with industry practice.

What are we looking for?

  • You should possess a UK Honours degree or UK ENIC recognised degree and a higher degree in a relevant subject area.
  • You will also need to have a recognised teaching qualification (or to achieve within 2 years of appointment).
  • You must have experience of teaching in a College Based Higher Education (CBHE) environment and a strong awareness of current developments within your subject disciplines.
