Only Farmers is hiring two Product Designers to improve the quality and user experience of our app and web products. You will work directly with Ted and Wolfe, who set overall product direction, and take ownership of turning that direction into thoughtful, reliable experiences.
Salary: £40,000–£55,000 per person, depending on relevant skills and experience.
Location: Remote within the United Kingdom. You must be based in the UK.
Employment: Full-time.
Two positions at the same level; this is a hands-on individual contributor role.

THE ROLE
This is a hands-on UX and product design role. Your core work is understanding users, identifying usability problems, designing user journeys, and refining the layout, interactions and visual details of our app and web products. You will turn user feedback into clear design decisions and test whether your designs make the experience easier to use.
You will also bring those designs to life by directing coding agents in Codex or Claude, then checking and refining the implemented experience. No prior professional coding experience is required; strong UX/UI design skills and practical experience working with coding agents are essential.
WHAT YOU WILL DO
- Identify friction through user feedback, conversations, product data and hands-on testing.
- Design clear journeys across discovery, bookings, community and farmer tools.
- Improve interaction design, visual hierarchy, content, accessibility and consistency across mobile and web.
- Turn problems into clear briefs and acceptance criteria for agents, then guide implementation using Codex or Claude.
- Challenge agent output, investigate unexpected behaviour and iterate until the result works well.
- Test complete journeys and relevant screen sizes, including loading, empty, error and permission states.
- Maintain shared design patterns and a prioritised UX improvement backlog with the team.
- Document what changed, how it was checked and any remaining limitations, following the team's review and release process.
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- A strong UX/UI portfolio showing usable, coherent products and the reasoning behind your decisions.
- Practical experience delivering working changes by managing coding agents through Codex or Claude. Personal and independent projects count.
- Good visual and interaction design judgment, with close attention to the details that make an app feel clear and dependable.
- The ability to break work into manageable steps, communicate precisely and recognise when an agent's output is incomplete or wrong.
- Confidence speaking with users and prioritising the problems that matter most.
- Careful testing and a willingness to keep refining your work.
No prior professional coding experience is required; practical experience delivering changes with coding agents is essential. You do not need a computer science degree or a particular educational background. Experience with mobile apps, marketplaces, accessibility or design systems is useful, but not required.

OUR PROCESS
1. Review of your application, portfolio and agent-assisted work.
2. Selected candidates complete a paid practical exercise: up to two hours, paid £110 regardless of the hiring outcome, in a prepared test environment. We assess design judgment, agent direction and verification. This is an assessment, not unpaid production work.
3. A 45-minute conversation with Ted and/or Wolfe to discuss your work, decisions and the role.
4. Three references, contacted with your permission, followed by a hiring decision.
