Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced, passionate, and highly organised Head Chef to lead our busy kitchen.
This is an excellent opportunity for a motivated individual who takes pride in delivering consistently high‑quality food while leading and developing a successful kitchen team.
The successful candidate will oversee all aspects of the kitchen operation, ensuring exceptional food quality, effective stock management, and full compliance with food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Key Responsibilites
- Manage the day-to-day running of a busy kitchen.
- Lead, motivate, and develop the kitchen team to deliver outstanding service.
- Ensure the preparation, consistency, quality, and presentation of all dishes meet the highest standards using fresh ingredients where practical
- Oversee stock ordering, stock control, and inventory management to minimise waste and maintain target margins.
- Maintain full compliance with food safety legislation, health and safety regulations, and best practice hygiene standards.
- Ensure the kitchen is maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and organisation at all times.
- Monitor food costs and maintain agreed gross profit margins.
- Foster a positive, professional, and efficient working environment.
Skills & Experience
- Strong leadership and people management skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
- Excellent organisational and time management abilities.
- A thorough understanding of food safety legislation and kitchen hygiene standards.
- Proven experience in stock control, ordering, and cost management.
- A passion for producing consistently high‑quality restaurant and bar meals.
- The ability to perform well under pressure in a fast‑paced environment.
- Working Hours
- Average 40-hour, 5 day working week.
- A combination of split and straight shifts, depending on business needs.
- Salary & Benefits
- Competitive basic salary, paid weekly.
- Food turnover‑related bonus, subject to achieving agreed gross profit margins and maintaining excellent hygiene standards.
- Combined salary and bonus are expected to exceed
- plus Tronc share currently averages £100+ per week, paid monthly.
