West Berkshire Golf Club is a friendly, picturesque, and well-established club set in the heart of the Berkshire countryside. We are now looking for a talented Chef/Cook to join our team and help elevate our food offering even further.

The Role

You will take a hands-on role in the day-to-day running of the kitchen, delivering consistently high-quality dishes for members, guests, and events. This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys autonomy, variety, and a supportive working environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook a range of breakfasts, lunches, and bar meals
  • Support catering for golf societies, club events, and occasional private functions
  • Maintain excellent food quality, presentation, and portion control
  • Ensure all food safety, hygiene, and cleanliness standards are upheld
  • Assist with menu planning and introducing new ideas
  • Manage stock levels and support ordering as required
  • Work collaboratively with the clubhouse team to deliver a great customer experience
About You

We’re looking for someone who brings both skill and personality to the kitchen.

Essential:
  • Experience as a chef or cook in a pub, café, golf club, or similar environment
  • Strong understanding of food hygiene and kitchen safety
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
  • A positive, reliable, and team-focused attitude
  • Flexibility to work weekends and occasional evenings for events
Desirable:
  • Experience catering for functions or events
  • Food hygiene certification (Level 2 or above)
  • A passion for simple, well-executed, quality food
