  • Market Harborough Golf Club is seeking an experienced, passionate, and motivated

Head Chef to lead our kitchen and deliver exceptional food for our members, guests, visitors, and functions.

This is an exciting opportunity for a talented chef to take ownership of our food offering, develop seasonal menus, and play a key role in enhancing the club's reputation for quality dining and hospitality.

About the Role

As Head Chef, you will be responsible for the day-to-day management of the kitchen, ensuring consistently high standards of food quality, presentation, hygiene, and service.

You'll lead and inspire the kitchen team while maintaining excellent cost control and delivering a first-class dining experience.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all kitchen operations.
  • Design and develop fresh, seasonal menus for the clubhouse, events, and special occasions.
  • Prepare and deliver high-quality meals to consistently excellent standards.
  • Manage food purchasing, stock control, and supplier relationships.
  • Monitor food costs, GP margins, and kitchen budgets.
  • Recruit, train, and develop kitchen staff.
  • Ensure full compliance with food safety, hygiene, and health & safety regulations.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment.
  • Work closely with the front-of-house team to deliver outstanding customer experiences.

About You

We're looking for someone who

  • Has previous experience as a Head Chef or Senior Sous Chef ready to step up.
  • Is passionate about producing fresh, high-quality food.
  • Has excellent leadership and team management skills.
  • Works well under pressure while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Has strong organisational and financial management skills.
  • Holds an up-to-date Food Hygiene qualification (Level 2 preferred).
  • Has experience catering for functions, events, and large groups (desirable).
  • Is flexible and willing to work evenings, weekends, and bank holidays as required.
