The Role

As Head Chef you’ll have full creative and operational control of the kitchen. You’ll design seasonal Italian menus using quality, locally sourced ingredients, lead and develop a small kitchen team, and maintain the consistently high standards our guests expect. Key Responsibilities

  • Full menu development and costing, with creative freedom across seasonal Italian cuisine
  • Leading, training, and motivating the kitchen team, including rotas and recruitment
  • Managing food ordering, supplier relationships, stock control, and GP targets
  • Maintaining the highest standards of food safety, hygiene, and kitchen compliance (HACCP)
  • Working closely with the owner and front‑of‑house team on specials, events, and growth plans

About You

  • Proven experience as a Head Chef or strong Sous Chef ready to step up
  • Genuine passion for Italian cooking and fresh, seasonal produce
  • Strong leadership skills with a calm, professional approach under pressure
  • Commercially aware — comfortable with costing, GPs, and waste control
  • Level 2 Food Hygiene minimum (Level 3 preferred)
