We are seeking a talented and experienced Chef to join our busy catering team.
Working alongside the Head Chef and Chef Assistant, this role will deliver outstanding preshow dining for the Watermill Theatre restaurant and bar, as well as catering for other events taking place at the theatre.
Full-Time or Part-Time (pro-rata) contracts. Please discuss at interview.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Food preparation and cooking maintaining high standards of quality and consistency.
- Leading and supporting on food service, ensuring that dishes are served in a timely manner
- Ensuring that statutory requirements and organisational policies are adhered to at all times, including processes relating to allergens and intolerances.
- Actively maintaining hygiene and cleanliness standards
- Supporting the Head Chef to ensure adequate stock levels and dealing with suppliers and managing deliveries when necessary
- Supervising Chef Assistant and Kitchen Porter in Head Chef’s absence
- Ensuring that guests receive excellent service and enjoy their culinary experience
The post holder should have
- Food hygiene Level 3
- Proven experience as a chef in a busy kitchen environment
- Ability to work as part of a team
- Excellent organisation and time management skills
- A strong understanding of health and safety regulations
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills
- Driving license
- Willingness to work evenings, weekends and bank holidays
