We are looking for an ambitious and passionate Head Chef to join us at Zaytoon, a new independent Palestinian restaurant opening in the heart of Bath. This is an exciting opportunity for a chef who wants to be part of creating something from the ground up. You will play a key role in developing our kitchen, maintaining high standards, and bringing authentic Palestinian and Middle Eastern flavours to life. Our menu focuses on fresh, quality ingredients, including freshly prepared breads, mezze, charcoal-grilled meats, vegetarian dishes, traditional breakfasts and speciality coffee. We are looking for someone who understands the importance of flavour, consistency, presentation and genuine hospitality.
The Role
- Lead and inspire the kitchen team, creating a positive and professional working environment
- Oversee daily kitchen operations, service preparation and food quality
- Maintain excellent standards of hygiene, food safety and kitchen organisation
- Work closely with the owners to develop and refine the menu
- Manage stock control, ordering and minimise waste
- Train and support kitchen team members
- Ensure consistency across all dishes and services
- Bring creativity and ideas while respecting the authenticity of the cuisine
About You
- Has proven experience as a Head Chef, Sous Chef or senior kitchen leader
- Has experience in fresh food, Mediterranean, Middle Eastern, Turkish, Levantine or similar cuisines (desirable but not essential)
- Has strong knowledge of kitchen management and food safety
- Takes pride in quality, flavour and presentation
- Is organised, reliable and passionate about hospitality
- Enjoys being part of an independent restaurant where your ideas can make a real difference
