Role Overview

We’re looking for a Charity Relationship Manager to join Only A Pavement Away. As part of the Only A Pavement Away team, you will play a pivotal role in maintaining strong relationships with our community partners in the North-West of the UK. Working collaboratively with them, you would be responsible for helping their candidates find that seamless transition into the hospitality sector, alleviating their current barriers to employment.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Establish, maintain and strengthen relationships with charities and organisations in the North-West community.

    • Develop close, collaborative relationships with charities and organisations supporting individuals who have been, or are more, vulnerable to homelessness: care leavers; refugees; those experiencing mental health; those who are neurodiverse; those who have experienced gender-based violence; veterans.
    • Act as the main point of contact for charities and organisations, ensuring that all partners understand and embrace the work of Only A Pavement Away.
    • Oversee a smooth onboarding process for new charities and organisations, ensuring induction training and in-person meetings with teams.
    • Ensure all procedures and processes are being adhered to whilst identifying any potential issues.
    • Schedule and facilitate both in-person and online meetings to provide ongoing support, gather feedback, and promote continuous improvement.
    • Inform partners and coordinate upcoming employment events for their candidates.
  2. Track and manage candidates referred by community partners.

    • Ensure partners are referring candidates who meet the eligibility criteria.
    • Maintain ongoing communication with referral organisations to ensure candidates are actively seeking employment and progressing through the process.
    • Provide insights on candidate journeys to resolve barriers preventing candidates from successfully moving into work, collaborating closely with the team.
    • Identify candidates who need additional Learning & Development support to ensure work readiness.
  3. Organise and attend employment events and workshops.

    • Encourage partners to refer candidates to our employment events and workshops including: Recruitment Fairs; Passport 2 Employment; Taster Sessions; 1-2-1s; Work Experience.
    • Coordinate event organisation and logistics with the team.
    • Conduct thorough follow-ups with partners after each event.
  4. Maintain strong communication with the Only A Pavement Away team.

    • Attend weekly meetings with the Employment Team and the Head of Charity & Candidate Development.
    • Collect and analyse data, providing structured, actionable insights to the team to inform decision-making and strategy.

Experience & Skills

  • Is a self-starter, able to work independently, and manage their own schedule.
  • Has a strong experience or practical knowledge of the charity sector, with experience or knowledge of the hospitality industry.
  • Have excellent communications and listening skills: is comfortable leading calls, speaking in front of an audience, handling difficult conversations.
  • Have strong organisational skills and excellent working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • Comfortable with completing tasks that require strong admin skills.
